Lost another LIMS challenge, but at least this time it wasn't in the first round ^_^ Made it all the way to round 4 in tvd_lims - hehe. Oh well. At least I'm learning what people seem to look for in those challenges a little better. Anywho, so now I can post all my entries and rejects for you guys.     Updated all the Alias, Charmed, Firefly, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, and Lost vid listings to include individual pages for each vid with comment space & embeds. All that's left to do are the Angel/Buffy and Misc pages.

   Twilight Video: The Life I'd Chosen
   
    "It was like someone had died - like I had died. Because it had been more than just losing the truest of true loves. It was also losing a whole future, a whole family - the whole life that I'd chosen." - that quote basically defined Bella's agony in New Moon to me. Lots of people hate how depressed Bella gets in the book "over a guy," but I saw her emotions as related more to the loss of a family she had thought she was becoming part of - not just that she got dumped. When viewed as the loss of an entire family & future that she had invested in, I can definitely relate to how devastating that would have been. So, this is my vid trying to show that heartache and abandonment in New Moon.

I also did some spring cleaning around the site: all the Twilight and Roswell videos have their own page now where the vids are streamed and you can post comments (some Roswell ones still need to be streamed, but I'm working on it). I noticed that the old script I used for comments wasn't working anymore because the service that I'd used now charges and shut down all the freebie stuff. I tried to reclaim the comments but they're all gone :( So 5 years of comments just disappeared into thin air. So sad. So since BAM is dying and I don't want to loose more comments, I've copied all the comments from BAM and placed them with the appropriate vids on this site. Hopefully the service I'm using now doesn't shut down too.

    So, it only took about 3 minutes into the Twilight Rifftrax for me to know I was going to have to make a massive amount of quote icons for it! So, Jasper's new hair in Eclipse just BOTHERS me to no end! So, of course I had to do a manip of that new still that came out ^_^

I know, I know - I also bitched about his New Moon hair and now here I am using it, but none of the Twilight pics of him are high enough quality to use and, while I think his Twilight hair was the best, the New Moon hair was still a hell of a lot better than what I've seen of Eclipse so far! Anyways, here's what I came up with: 1 base manip and 2 Eclipse posters + a bunch of little icons.

An Edward/Bella video I consider as The Twilight Duet ^_^ It's a look at the movie through both Edward's and Bella's eyes, showing the different perspectives they have on the world and themselves. Part one is Edward's POV, which is filled with turmoil and darkness. The 2nd part is Bella's POV, which is nothing but daisies and sunshine. And finally, the third part is both of their perspectives/takes on the same events. I wanted to make this vid ever since reading Midnight Sun, which I utterly adored because I loved being able to see a different take on the same scenes that I first enjoyed (plus I related to Edward's observations more than Bella's). So this is my vid showing what completely different worlds they live in - they both see the world through very different eyes. Also - this is my first effect-heavy vid. I hope it turned out ok and isn't too distracting.

I wanted to make a vid that illustrated a song, rather than using a song to give voice to clips. I've always really loved this song (Firebird by Little Big Town) and Max and Liz from Roswell seemed like the perfect cast for this little AU adventure. Basically, the song is about a guy who hits on a waitress and decides to take her on a joy ride - that is until the waitress turns out to have something a bit different in mind. :P

Also, I won awards for the first time ever in an icon challenge! Yeah me! ^_^ What this means for you though, is that I can finally post my entries (and the entries I made but didn't submit) for you to snag! Samples:

Finally got all these posted - they've been sitting on my computer for weeks! I'm just in LOVE with the Kelley Armstrong books lately (they're my post-Twilight crack) and just had to make some book quote icons. I'm sure there will be many more as I continue to re-read them (feel free to make requests!). Plus, I got hooked on Dark Angel (thanks again Sam!) and had to do a few for the show. And I was so sad to hear about Patrick Swayze... To Wong Foo was one of my favorite movies as a kid (I love my parents ;P) As for the pooh/eeyore ones, I saw the pic on this box in the drug store for a baby teething aid and thought it was adorable - so I, of course, had to take a pic and make icons. The Modern Family one at the end I just HAD to make after seeing the baby dressed up for Valentine's Day. Aw - anyone else see that ep? The rest are just sort of random icons I've wanted to make for awhile and just never got around to. Enjoy!

So sad this show kicked the bucket - I was a little skeptical of the show at first, but Firefly taught me to always give Joss Whedon the chance to hook you with his stories. And it completely paid off. The last half of the second season (when they knew they were going to be canceled) was just amazing! The canceling sort of forced them to compress their storytelling so that every episode was chock full of wonderfulness! My fav part of these eps though, was the development of the Sierra/Victor relationship. And they sort of get their happy ending - very un-Josslike ^_^

A new layout for the site and a lot of new stuff posted!

Next, we have 3 new fanvids up, one of which was the commission for the help_haiti project:

 A little vid for Rosalie and Emmett - I didn't have a lot of clips to work with, so I just had to do the best I could and keep it short. They were never really one of my fav couples, but after thinking of their relationship within the context of this song I think I kinda get how they fit together a little better.


Created as part of the Help_Haiti effort. My winning bidder, Addie, wanted a Sylar Season 1 vid to this song. I had a lot of fun making this. It was a song and subject I wouldn't have chosen on my own, so that made it into a really unique vidding challenge for me. I really enjoyed making it and was pretty happy with the results - even more so since it's a different type of vid than I normally make.

 This was an idea that I had when first reading the Twilight books - I kept seeing Roswell! Bedroom windows, I love you but we can't be together, damsel in distress rescues, Isabel changes her name to Rosalie, Romeo and Juliet, scifi bonding situations, etc. So, here's my vid showing some of the ways the two bleed together. ^_^
